April walked into her first yoga class in 2005 and was immediately hooked. Growing with dance as one of her primary forms of exercise, she was drawn to the body, mind and breath connection that is found in yoga.
April began her running career after attending UGA and having her three daughters. Her casual love of the run blossomed into longer distances until she was competing in marathons all over the country. She had just crossed the finish line in Boston in 2013 when the bombs went off, and the experience left her feeling helpless and scared. Thankfully she had yoga (already in her life) to balance the turmoil of that horrific event. Yoga has helped April feel an amazing sense of peace, joy, freedom, and balance on and off the mat. The stretch April gets from each class she takes or teaches leaves her feeling rejuvenated.
April has been very fortunate to travel and take many different types of classes and intensives throughout the country. These wonderful experiences keep her practicing.
April has been teaching yoga in Valdosta, GA. for over 2 years. She received her 100 hour certification with Sean and Karen Conley at Amazing Yoga. She has a passion for helping others find balance and strength through yoga. April incorporates the music and the sequencing to hopefully allow for everyone to feel the "yoga magic" on and off their mats! She teaches a vinyasa style flow focused on breathe, movement, strength, and balance.
She loves meeting and getting to know the many people that yoga has brought into her life. April is grateful and knows her life is richer for these interactions.
Knowing that life is full of unpredictable events, April is glad to know that she can return to her mat and find peace, serenity and love anytime.
